Although diamonds can fall into 5 categories for cut quality (4 for all shapes except rounds) we at Diamond-Guide only sell diamonds that are of "Ideal", "Very Good" or "Good" cut quality. We will not sell diamonds that are of "fair" or "poor" cut quality.

The following tables are to be used to determine the stone's quality of cut. Apply the 3 parameters from the "quality of cut" section here to arrive at the correct cut grade. The final grade is based on the lowest denominator. For example : If a round stone you checked yielded two "goods" and one "fair", the price should be based on the "fair". Or, if a diamond's girdle runs from very thin to extremely thick it's cut grade should be based on the lower (extremely thick) grade.

The following are the recommended total depth percentage, table size percentage and girdle thickness for determining cut quality for diamonds in the advanced comparison search.
